The 30th IBJJF Worlds Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, one of the most prestigious and competitive tournaments in the world, annually gathers the strongest athletes from all continents, was held in Long Beach (California, USA). The representatives of Kazakhstan achieved a historic success at the world championship.

The adult national team won two gold medals among the brown belts thanks to the victories of Alinur Kuatuly and Seilkhan Bolat. Batyr Tenizbai became the bronze medalist of the championship.

We are particularly proud of the achievement of the young Karaganda athlete Asanali Abayev, who wrote his name in the history of national sports, becoming one of the first IBJJF champions from Kazakhstan.

Asanali competed in the Juvenile 1 division in the 53.5 kg weight category among the blue belts. On the way to the championship title, he had four intense fights, demonstrating a high level of preparation, character and the will to win. In the final, the Kazakhstani met with a strong opponent from Brazil. As a result of a stubborn confrontation, the judges gave the victory to Asanali Abayev, which earned him a well-deserved gold medal.
