Akim of Atyrau Region Serik Shapkenov held a personal meeting with citizens. Citizens who had registered for the meeting on a first-come, first-served basis participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, residents of the region raised questions about healthcare, employment, housing and the process of registering for housing, obtaining land plots, and access to transportation services in rural areas.

A resident of the Kurmangazy District requested service housing. She stated that she works in one of the district's villages and experiences daily difficulties commuting to work.

Special attention was paid to the issue of transportation for people with special needs. One resident noted that people with disabilities of the first group can purchase tickets to Atyrau, but such a system does not exist in the districts. Head of the region emphasized the need to create a unified database and a convenient system to ensure unimpeded travel between settlements.

A 71-year-old Afghan War veteran also raised a housing issue. He requested assistance in obtaining an apartment, noting that he had been on the housing waiting list since 2025.

Head of the region Serik Shapkenov explained that apartments are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis in accordance with the law, and instructed representatives of JSC Otbasy Bank to explain in detail to the applicant the current mechanisms and procedures for obtaining housing.

Following the meeting, Serik Shapkenov instructed the responsible government agencies to thoroughly review each request and take appropriate measures within the framework of current legislation.
