Astana, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, June 9, 2026. Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Madi Takiyev held a meeting with the new Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to Kazakhstan, Amina Lahreche, Senior Economist Dyna Heng and other experts.

Madi Takiyev expressed his appreciation for the IMF’s regular missions conducted under Article IV Consultations, as well as for its targeted consultations and technical assistance.

The meeting took place at the Digital Government Support Center and focused on discussing key issues of the country’s socio-economic development, the current execution of public finances, and further strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and the International Monetary Fund.

During the meeting, Vice Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan Asset Turysov delivered a presentation on the initiatives being implemented in the country to advance the digital transformation of public administration and the digitalization of budget processes. Particular attention was paid to the introduction of modern digital solutions in public finance management and the development of analytical tools to support decision-making.

The Head of the IMF Mission noted Kazakhstan’s achievements in the digital transformation of the public sector and public financial management.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation and exchange of experience in order to promote sustainable economic growth and enhance the effectiveness of public administration.
