Gennady Golovkin is included in the International Boxing Hall of Fame

A solemn ceremony of the admission of new members to the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) took place in the American city of Canastota (New York). Gennady Golovkin became the first ever representative of Kazakhstan in this elite club. His sporting achievements cemented his status as a legendary athlete and one of the best boxers of his era.

Golovkin entered the Hall of Fame on his first attempt, which is considered a special recognition in the world of professional boxing. Now the name of the Kazakhstani is officially on a par with the greatest representatives of this sport — Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.

As a sign of appreciation, Gennady Golovkin donated to the Hall of Fame museum his famous champion capan, in which he went to many fights and which became an integral part of his bright career.

Along with Golovkin, Antonio Tarver (USA) and Nigel Benn (Great Britain) were included in the "Class of 2026" in the Men's Modern category, as well as Naoko Fujioka (Japan) and Jackie Nava (Mexico) in the Women's Modern category.
Gennady Golovkin won 345 victories in 350 fights in the amateur ring, remaining the leader of the national team for many years and successfully representing Kazakhstan at major international tournaments.

After turning professional, Gennady Golovkin became one of the most dominant middleweight champions of the 21st century. During his career, he fought 45 fights, winning 42 victories, of which 37 ended by knockout. The Karagandin held the WBA, WBC, IBF and IBO world titles, The Ring belt, and for a long time was one of the best boxers in the world, regardless of weight class.

Signing a contract with HBO opened the way for him to world fame. His aggressive style, spectacular fights, and knockout power have made Golovkin one of the brightest stars in world boxing and a favorite of millions of people.
Over the years, he has established a number of outstanding achievements. A streak of 23 consecutive knockout wins for nine years has become a record for the middleweight division. He has 21 successful world title defenses to his credit, and the rate of early victories, exceeding 90 percent, was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the highest among world champions.

Today, Gennady Golovkin continues to represent Kazakhstan outside the ring. He heads the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan and the World Boxing organization, becoming the first representative of the country to be elected president of the international sports federation.
The International Boxing Hall of Fame was founded by Ed Brophy in 1989 in Canastota and is considered the world's premier institution for recognizing achievements in professional boxing. The organization is dedicated to preserving the history of this sport, and the number of its members today exceeds 300 people.
Gennady Golovkin's inclusion in the IBHOF was not only a recognition of his personal achievements, but also a historic event for the entire Kazakhstani sport.
