Major reconstruction of the Natalia Sats State Academic Russian Theatre for Children and Youth in Almaty is nearing completion. The historic building, which has not undergone a major overhaul since the 1980s, is now 85% complete.

The project includes strengthening the building's load-bearing structures and replacing all engineering systems across a total area of 14,600 square metres. In addition, a new five-storey building with a floor area of 10,000 square metres is being constructed. It will house a chamber theatre, workshops, scenery storage facilities, and studios for children. The two buildings will be connected by a gallery walkway, while the surrounding area will be fully landscaped.
