Is it possible to correct errors in the customs declaration?

Yes, the legislation provides for the possibility of changing or supplementing the information specified in the customs declaration.

Prior to the release of the goods, the declarant may make changes with the permission of the customs authority, if separate control procedures have not been initiated. It is also allowed to correct typos, grammatical errors and clarify the location of the product.

After the release of the goods, changes are also possible in cases stipulated by law by submitting an adjustment declaration.

Important: changes cannot lead to the replacement of a previously declared product with another product.

If the customs authority finds violations that require correction of information, the declarant is obliged to make appropriate changes within the prescribed period.

Timely correction of data helps to avoid delays in customs clearance and reduces the risk of prosecution.
