Elections to the Kurultai of Kazakhstan are scheduled for August 23. Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a corresponding decree, Akorda reports.

"In accordance with subparagraph 3) of Article 46 and paragraph 1 of Article 95 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, I decree:

To appoint elections of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan for August 23, 2026.

The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan will organize the preparation and conduct of elections of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the akims of the capital, regions, and cities of republican significance should immediately take all necessary measures to organize, financially, and financially support the election of deputies to the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan," the document says.

The decree is put into effect from the date of its publication.
