At the Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, water resource management issues were discussed. The akim of the region, Murat Ergeshbayev, participated via conference call.
Following the Government meeting, responsible officials were given instructions on water resource management.
«Take strict control over the stable operation of water management facilities during the irrigation season and their organization according to plan. It is necessary to use SyrDarya water for field irrigation without losses and ensure the supply of the required volume to the Small Aral Sea.
In addition, special attention should be paid to the flooding of lake systems, hayfields, and pastures. This will contribute to stabilizing the environmental situation in the region.
This year, a billing system has been officially launched in the water supply service, and the conclusion of electronic contracts with water consumers has been fully completed. According to the current rules, farms must pay for water supply services by the 25th of each month», – said Murat Nalkhozhayevich.
It should be noted that 112 projects have been included in the regional comprehensive water sector development plan for 2024-2028. About 10 billion tenge has been allocated for systemic measures for the efficient use of water resources.
Last year, agricultural crops were sown on 8.1 thousand hectares using water-saving technologies, and this year this figure has been increased to 14.2 thousand hectares.
To reduce water losses, 65 thousand hectares of rice fields were leveled using laser technology. Accordingly, the development of water protection design documentation for 75 facilities is planned as a priority.
