Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov visited the city of Arkalyk and reviewed the progress of projects dedicated to the city's 70th anniversary. Infrastructure, sports, and transportation development works are being carried out according to the planned schedule.
Over the past three years, the facades of 138 apartment buildings have been renovated, and this year the exterior appearance of another 50 buildings will be repaired.
The modernization of the railway station continues. Engineering networks, waiting rooms, ticket areas, and sanitary facilities are being upgraded, and modern security systems are being implemented.
This year, Arkalyk will host the regional summer sports competition. The main sports venue of the competition — the "Zhiger" stadium — is undergoing repairs.
Last year, three new sports facilities were put into operation in Arkalyk.
The construction of an indoor hockey rink and a sports and recreation complex continues.
The construction of Arkalyk Airport is in its final stage. The main construction and engineering works for the terminal have been completed. The construction of the emergency rescue station and the control tower continues. Milling of the asphalt concrete pavement is underway on the runway. The autonomous boiler house and pumping station have been fully installed.
