Recently Air Astana celebrated its 15th anniversary of direct flights between Kazakhstan and Georgia with an event in Tbilisi attended by leading Georgian media representatives.

Serik Rys-Uly, Director Passenger and Cargo Sales, and Karlygash Omurbayeva, Regional General Manager Caucasus, highlighted the steady growth of air connectivity between the two countries. What began with three weekly flights between Almaty and Tbilisi in 2011 has developed into one of the most extensive air networks between Central Asia and the Caucasus, with the Air Astana Group operating up to 44 weekly flights between Kazakhstan and Georgia during the 2026 summer season.

Over the past 15 years, Air Astana Group has carried more than 1,5 million passengers between Kazakhstan and Georgia, steadily expanding its network and frequencies in line with growing demand. In 2025, the Air Astana Group reached a new milestone, carrying more than 270,000 passengers between the two countries, a record figure and a 17% increase compared to the previous year. The Group connects Almaty, Astana, Aktau and Atyrau with Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi, while also offering convenient onward connections through its hubs in Almaty and Astana to destinations across Kazakhstan, Central Asia, China, India and beyond.

As travel demand between Georgia and Kazakhstan continues to grow, Air Astana remains committed to expanding opportunities for tourism, business and cultural exchange between the two countries. With an extensive regional network, award-winning service and convenient connections, the Air Astana Group is well positioned to serve as a gateway for Georgian travellers exploring Kazakhstan and destinations beyond.
