Kazakhstan recorded a week-long deflation in the SZPT

The country has recorded weekly deflation on socially significant food products. According to the Bureau of National Statistics, for the period from June 24 to July 1, 2026, the price index for socially significant food products amounted to 99.9%.

During the week, price decreases were noted for seven products. Tomatoes fell in price by 8.5%, cucumbers by 8.3%, eggs by 1.5%, apples by 1.1%, fresh, chilled, and frozen fish by 0.4%, sunflower oil by 0.2%, and kefir by 0.1%. The price index for rice, bread, and milk remained at 100.0%.

A slight price increase was recorded for 21 product items. Cabbage rose in price by 7.9%, onions and potatoes by 1.9%, and sugar by 1.6%. For other products, the increase was less than 1%.

Regionally, price increases were noted in four regions over the week: Akmola region by 0.2%, Atyrau, Almaty, and North Kazakhstan regions by 0.1%. In Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, and Zhambyl regions, the price index was 100.0%. Price decreases were registered in 12 regions, including Kyzylorda region by 0.9%, Aktobe, Ulytau, Kostanay, and Turkestan regions by 0.3%, Mangystau, West Kazakhstan, and East Kazakhstan regions by 0.2%, as well as in Shymkent, Pavlodar, Abai, and Zhetysu regions by 0.1%.

The Ministry of Trade and Integration, together with interested government bodies, continues work on price control and ensuring the domestic market. Since the beginning of the year, 581 meetings of regional commissions have been held to identify unproductive intermediaries, 2,434 administrative rulings have been issued for exceeding the maximum trade markup, and more than 26.5 thousand product chains have been analyzed, revealing 3,816 risks of violations.

To saturate the market, supplies of fruit and vegetable products continue. Through JSC "KTZ-Express", about 28.9 thousand tons of potatoes, 8.6 thousand tons of carrots, 4.7 thousand tons of onions, and 0.2 thousand tons of cabbage have been supplied to the domestic market. Memorandums are in effect to ensure stable prices for tomatoes and cucumbers, eggs, sunflower oil, and beef. Since the beginning of the year, more than 3,980 agricultural fairs have also been held to sell products at producer prices.
