The first inmates have been released from correctional institutions operated by the Department of criminally-executive system in the North Kazakhstan region under the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amnesty," adopted in connection with the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The first three individuals to be released were two men and one woman. All of them had been serving sentences for theft. They were welcomed outside the correctional facilities by their families, who had been eagerly awaiting their return home.

More than 1,700 people are currently serving sentences in the region's criminally-executive system institutions. Under the Amnesty Law, approximately 100 inmates are eligible for release. Overall, the Law applies to more than 250 convicted persons, whose prison terms will be reduced or who will receive other forms of relief предусмотренные by the legislation.

The released individuals have now been given an opportunity to start a new chapter in their lives, rebuild family ties, and return to a law-abiding way of life.
