Today, the akim of the region, Murat Ergeshbayev, met with the Chairman of the Board of NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Meirzhan Yusupov. The meeting discussed the current state of the uranium mining industry in the region and the progress of production projects.
The head of the region noted the company's role in the global uranium market and in strengthening Kazakhstan's industrial potential.
«The Kazatomprom group of companies plays an important role in the socio-economic development of our region. Uranium mining in the region has been steadily developing for many years, making a significant contribution to creating new jobs, increasing production potential, and developing the local economy. I am confident that mutually beneficial partnership in this area will continue in the future»,- said Murat Nalkhozhaeyevich.
Today, uranium mining in the region is carried out by subsidiaries within Kazatomprom. These are the Baiken-U, Turanium, Semizbai-U, and RU-6 partnerships. In the structure of the manufacturing industry, the share of the metallurgical sector is 39.4%.
At the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further strengthen mutual cooperation and continue joint projects aimed at the sustainable socio-economic development of the region.
