A young chess player from Karaganda became the champion of Central and North Asia

Twelve-year-old Karagandian Albina Kairbekova won a gold medal at the Central and North Asian Youth Chess Championship. The international tournament, held on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, brought together 479 of the strongest young athletes from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Russia.

This was reported in the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Karaganda region.

The participants competed in classical chess, rapid and blitz. Albina Kairbekova showed the best result in blitz among girls under 14 (G14 category), becoming the champion of Central and North Asia.

Kazakhstan chess players performed well at the international tournament, winning 33 medals, 13 of which were gold. Albina has contributed to the overall collection of awards for the national team.

As noted in the Kazakh Chess Federation, the results of the championship will be used to offset the program of support for the best young chess players in the country.

The Department of Physical Culture and Sports congratulated the young athlete on her high achievement and wished her new victories in the international arena.
