Dear representatives of foreign media outlets,

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan announces the opening of the accreditation for the representatives of foreign media wishing to cover the elections of deputies of the Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan which will be held on 23 August 2026.

Under the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, foreign journalists may carry out their professional activities in the country only if they hold permanent or temporary accreditation issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Representatives of foreign media may be accompanied by one interpreter upon presentation of an identity document of the interpreter.

Applications for the accreditation must be submitted no later than August 16 2026 to accreditation@mfa.kz with the subject line “Kurultai Elections 2026”.

The following documents are required for accreditation:

• a letter from the editor-in-chief requesting accreditation of the journalist;
• a copy of the journalist’s valid passport;
• a completed accreditation form;
• a digital photograph of the journalist (3×4 cm);
• background information about the media outlet.
