April 6–17, 2025 – Mangystau Hosts Its First Cycling Tour with French Tourists

From April 6 to 17, 2025, the Mangystau Region hosted its first-ever 11-day cycling tour with the participation of tourists from France. The unique 600-kilometer route stretched from Fort Shevchenko to the Karynzharyk Depression, according to the Public Communications Center.
This was the first cycling tour of its scale in the history of the region. The tour brought together 11 experienced cyclists from various parts of France. Among the participants were renowned traveler, filmmaker, and explorer Cédric Tassan, as well as Éric Balian, Chief Executive Officer of Terres d’Aventure, one of France's leading adventure travel companies.
The route showcased some of Mangystau's most spectacular natural attractions, including Sherkala Mountain, the Bozzhyra Canyon, the Torysh Valley of Balls, and other iconic landscapes.
Participants also explored the region's rich cultural and historical heritage.
The cycling tour marked an important initiative to promote Mangystau's tourism potential on the international stage.
The French participants expressed their admiration for the region's breathtaking natural beauty and emphasized its significant potential for the development of cycling and ecotourism.
At the conclusion of the tour, Cédric Tassan and Éric Balian met with Yersin Ibrashev, Head of the Tourism Department of the Mangystau Region. During the meeting, the parties agreed to organize a familiarization (press) tour in the future for French tour operators, bloggers, and media representatives. The initiative is expected to provide a new impetus for the promotion and development of tourism in the Mangystau Region.
