On 3 August, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched the construction of several major highway projects.
A key project is the approximately 800-km Beyneu–Saksaulsk highway, which will directly connect the Chinese border with the ports of Aktau and Kuryk. The new route is expected to shorten the China–Europe corridor by approximately 1,000 km and reduce cargo delivery times by up to three days.
The Kyzylorda–Saksaulsk and Ulgaysyn–Saksaulsk roads will also be modernised. These projects will further strengthen Kazakhstan’s role as a major transport and logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia.
