Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Austria Hold Telephone Conversation
14.08.2026 18:16:26 237Astana, August 14, 2026 – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev held a telephone conversation with Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger.
The sides discussed the safety of international shipping and the stable supply of Kazakh oil to European markets in the context of the situation surrounding the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).
The importance of ensuring the uninterrupted operation of this route was emphasized, as a significant share of Kazakhstan’s oil supplies to Austria is transported through it, accounting for approximately 56% of the country’s crude oil imports.
The Foreign Ministers exchanged views on current issues of the international and regional agenda. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan congratulated the Austrian side on Austria’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027–2028, expressing readiness for further constructive cooperation within the Organization.
The sides also emphasised the importance of maintaining regular contacts and confirmed their readiness to further develop practical cooperation within the framework of the agreements reached, including those following the previous visit of Federal Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger to Kazakhstan.
