Kazakhstan and Australia Intend to Expand Bilateral Cooperation
08.09.2026 19:01:19 87Astana, 8 September 2026 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issagaliyev received the Ambassador of Australia to the Republic of Kazakhstan John Geering.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, noting the mutual interest of Astana and Canberra in further expanding political dialogue, as well as trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian interaction.
The Australian Ambassador highly commended political reforms being implemented in Kazakhstan, including the Kurultai elections.
Furthermore, the parties discussed cooperation within multilateral platforms, including the UN, as well as mutual support for the international initiatives of Kazakhstan and Australia.
In conclusion, both diplomats exchanged views on current international issues and their impact on the countries of the region.
John Geering also concurrently serves as the Ambassador of Australia to Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, with residence in Moscow.
