Recently, cases of compromised WhatsApp accounts have become increasingly frequent. Just a single SMS code intercepted by malicious actors can grant them full access to your personal chats and data.

How do scammers gain access?
They ask for the SMS verification code under various pretexts.
They send phishing links.
They pose as acquaintances or technical support staff.
They persuade you to urgently «verify your number.»

How to secure your account right now?
1. Enable Two-Step Verification: go to Settings → Account → Two-Step Verification, set a secure PIN code, and link your email address for recovery.
2. Regularly check Settings → Linked Devices. If you notice an unfamiliar session, log out immediately.
3. The golden rule: never share your SMS code, WhatsApp PIN code, or login credentials with anyone.

What to do if your account has already been hacked?
Re-register your phone number in WhatsApp by entering the code received via SMS.
Check «Linked Devices» and terminate all unknown sessions. Immediately warn your family, friends, and colleagues about the breach so they do not follow links or send money.
