At the beginning of the new academic year, a series of fire safety lessons was launched in the East Kazakhstan region. The organizer was the CSE «East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Development of Education «Örken» of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region.

The first lesson was held in an interview format for students of the region. The speaker was Seitkamza Madina — Senior Engineer of the State Fire Control Department of the Emergency Situations Department of East Kazakhstan Region, Major. Considering the multilingual environment of the region, the lessons were conducted in two languages (Kazakh and Russian) with identical content, which allowed reaching the maximum number of schoolchildren.

During the conversation, the speaker analyzed the algorithm of actions in various emergency situations. Madina Seitkamza emphasized that the main enemy in a fire is not only the flames, but also panic, as well as toxic smoke. «Every student must remain calm and clearly follow the teacher's instructions,» the Major noted.

Schoolchildren were reminded of vital rules: if the corridor is filled with smoke, it is necessary to close the door tightly and seal the gaps, and during evacuation, it is strictly forbidden to use elevators. Special emphasis was placed on the fact that under no circumstances should one return to a burning building for left belongings, be it a backpack or a phone.

In addition, the speaker touched upon the topic of household safety. Students were explained the dangers of faulty chargers and electrical grid overload. At the end of the meeting, Madina Seitkamza formulated three main rules: do not panic and inform adults by calling 112, leave the premises in an organized manner via a safe route, and never risk your life for material possessions.

Conducting such lessons contributes to the formation of a safety culture and proper behavior skills in extreme situations among the younger generation.
