Users of the eGov.kz portal and the eGov Mobile application can now obtain an online certificate confirming their crossing of the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan for a selected period. The document is generated electronically and is available for download from the user’s personal account.

The certificate contains information on border crossings, including the date and time, route, direction of travel, flight and vehicle number, country of entry or exit, and border checkpoint, where such information is available in the relevant information system.

To obtain the certificate via the eGov.kz portal, users need to:

• sign in to the eGov.kz portal;
• select the service “Issuance of a Certificate of crossing the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan”;
• specify the person for whom the certificate is being requested: “Myself”, “Minor Child”, or “Legal Representative (for adults who are legally incapacitated or have limited legal capacity)”;
• specify the period for which the information is required;
• click “Submit Request”;
• sign an application using one of the available methods.

Once the request has been processed, the electronic certificate will be available in the “My Profile - Personal Account” section of the eGov.kz portal in Kazakh and Russian. If no State Border crossings are recorded for the specified period, this will be indicated in the certificate. A request may be submitted for any period from January 1, 2017 to the current date, provided that the selected period does not exceed three months. The service is provided within 15 minutes.

To obtain the certificate through eGov Mobile, users need to follow similar steps: on the Homepage, select the service “Issuance of a Certificate of crossing the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan”.

The service is available free-of-charge to citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who have an Individual Identification Number (IIN). For foreign nationals, a certificate confirming crossing of the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan is available through the QazETA portal.

The certificate may be requested for the applicant, a minor child, or, in cases provided for by law, an adult who is legally incapacitated or has limited legal capacity, provided that the applicant is their legal representative. When a certificate is requested for a child, the child’s details are retrieved automatically from the information systems of the civil registration authorities.

When requesting a certificate for an adult who is legally incapacitated or has limited legal capacity, or for an incapacitated child under guardianship, the user can select the relevant person from a list generated on the basis of data contained in the information systems of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The certificate may also be required by individuals who have personally brought a smartphone or tablet into Kazakhstan from abroad and need to register its IMEI code for personal use on the networks of Kazakhstan’s telecommunications operators.

The service simplifies the process of obtaining official confirmation of State Border crossings. The certificate is generated automatically using data from government information systems, signed with an electronic digital signature, and has legal validity, making the process fast, convenient and transparent for citizens.

The service was developed through the joint efforts of the Public Services Committee under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC, and the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
