Astana, September 29 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issetov met with a delegation of the Parliamentary Group «Austria–Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan», headed by Markus Hofer.

The parties discussed prospects for Kazakhstan–Austria cooperation, with particular emphasis on developing interparliamentary dialogue. They noted the importance of establishing direct contacts between the parliamentarians of the two countries and arranging a reciprocal visit by the Kazakhstan–Austria Friendship Group to Vienna.

Particular attention was paid to trade, economic and investment cooperation, including preparations for the forthcoming meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council, scheduled to take place in Vienna on 19‑20 November this year.

The parties considered opportunities for cooperation in critical raw materials, energy security, transport infrastructure and logistics. They highlighted the potential participation of Austrian companies in joint production and projects within the Middle Corridor.

The parties also exchanged views on developing cooperation in agriculture, dual education and tourism.
