44 Kazakhstan Pensioners Have Reached the Age of 100
October 1 is celebrated in Kazakhstan as the Day of Older Persons. This holiday reminds us of the value of the life experience of the older generation, a significant proportion of whom today receive pension payments. Behind them are years of dedicated work, care for their families, and important milestones in the development of our country.
Today, more than 2.4 million people receive pension payments in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Women account for the majority of pension recipients, making up 64%, while men account for 36%. Thus, women represent almost two-thirds of all pension recipients.
Centenarians hold a special place in these statistics. As of today, 44 pension recipients across the country have already reached the age of 100. Among them are remarkable individuals whose life stories inspire genuine admiration. The oldest female pensioner in the country lives in Shymkent. At the age of 106, she is surrounded by the care and love of her large and close-knit family.
Among male pensioners, the oldest in the country is 104-year-old Almaty resident Zulkharnay Seitov. A veteran of the Great Patriotic War, scientist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, professor and academician, he fought from the Battle of Stalingrad all the way to Berlin. After the war, Seitov devoted his life to science and teaching, dedicating many decades to these fields. He is the author of more than 150 scientific papers, monographs and textbooks. His military service was recognized with the Order of the Red Star, the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class, and medals including the Medal “For the Defense of Stalingrad” and the Medal “For Courage.”
The life stories of Kazakhstan’s centenarians reflect the unbroken connection between generations and the continuity of time. Their many years of work, resilience and professional achievements have helped lay a strong foundation for the country’s development today.
The State Corporation “Government for Citizens” expresses its deep respect and sincere gratitude to the entire older generation for their invaluable contribution to the development of the country. The State Corporation wishes all citizens good health, long life and well-being.
