Today, Regional Akim Murat Ergeshbayev, City Akim Nurzhan Akhatov, and Chairman of the Regional Council of Veterans Serik Duisenbayev visited the Kyzylorda Special Social Services Center No. 1 to congratulate the elderly on the International Day of Older Persons, observed on October 1.
"For the Kazakh people, respect for elders and reverence for old age is a noble tradition passed down through the centuries. It represents an invaluable spiritual asset for the younger generation. Therefore, respecting our wise *aksakals* (elders) is a civic duty for each of us. Providing social support to the region's veterans is a top priority for me. We will continue to care for you. We remain committed to creating comfortable conditions and providing the necessary assistance. I wish you all good health and well-being!"- said Murat Nalkhozhauly.
The regional head toured an exhibition set up in a yurt outside the center, which showcased traditional-style handicrafts made by the facility's residents themselves.
Currently, there are approximately 90,000 elderly people living in the region, with over 2,000 receiving special social services. This year, 843.8 million tenge was allocated to the Kyzylorda Special Social Services Center No. 1.
The center is equipped to meet modern standards, offering a favorable environment for the health improvement and rehabilitation of service recipients. Efforts to upgrade the facility's infrastructure and equipment will continue.
In addition, special social services for pensioners are provided at a 150-bed rehabilitation center in the village of Talsuat and at a 50-capacity day-care facility in the city of Kyzylorda.
