Ambassador of Kazakhstan Presents Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Hungary

A solemn ceremony for the presentation of Letters of Credence by Anel Bakytbekkyzy, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, to András Bálint Baka, President of the Republic of Hungary, was held at Sándor Palace.

Ambassador conveyed to the President of the Republic of Hungary the warm greetings and best wishes of H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues concerning Kazakhstan-Hungary cooperation. They reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening the strategic partnership, maintaining an active political dialogue, and expanding practical cooperation in the trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian, and educational spheres.

It was noted that relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary are founded on traditionally friendly ties and the historical closeness between the two peoples. The sides emphasized the importance of further enriching the strategic partnership with concrete joint projects and initiatives.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of new mutually beneficial projects, as well as to preparations for upcoming bilateral visits at the highest and high levels. In this context, the importance of implementing joint initiatives and events in connection with the 35th  anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary, to be marked in 2027, was highlighted.

The sides also exchanged views on current issues on the international and regional agenda, including the development of relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union, as well as cooperation within the “Central Asia - European Union” format. The potential role of Kazakhstan and Hungary in further strengthening trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics links between Central Asia and Europe was also noted.

The Ambassador emphasized that Hungary is one of Kazakhstan’s close and reliable partners in the European Union and expressed her readiness to contribute to the further expansion of bilateral cooperation, including in the economic, cultural and humanitarian, and educational spheres, as well as through people-to-people diplomacy.

During the meeting, the Ambassador also briefed the President of the Republic of Hungary on the institutional transformations being implemented in Kazakhstan in 2026, including the entry into force of the new Constitution, the establishment of the “Kazakhstan Halyq Kenesi”, the creation of the post of Vice-President, as well as the elections of deputies to the Kurultai  of the Republic of Kazakhstan held on 23 August 2026.

President of the Republic of Hungary András Bálint Baka stressed his readiness on further strengthening bilateral ties and opening up new avenues for trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

As part of the contacts held following the ceremony, the Ambassador also held discussions with Klára Breuer, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary responsible for bilateral relations, and György Kerekes, Head of the Directorate for Social and International Relations at the Office of the President of the Republic of Hungary. The sides exchanged views on the current state of Kazakhstan-Hungary relations and discussed prospects for further strengthening strategic cooperation between the two countries.
