First Deputy Prime Minister Nurlibek Nalibayev reviewed the progress of major infrastructure, social, and utility projects financed from the National Fund in Almaty and the Almaty Region.
On the instructions of the Head of State, significant funds are being allocated from the National Fund for the implementation of projects. For the current year alone, 1.5 trillion tenge has been earmarked.
During the working trip, the First Deputy Prime Minister was presented with a development plan for Almaty International Airport. It provides for the modernization of terminal and runway infrastructure, the construction of a new taxiway, a cargo apron, and the development of service facilities.
Next, Nurlibek Nalibayev inspected an 8 km section of the R-17 highway "Almaty – Talgar – Baidibek bi," which is planned to be expanded to four lanes, as well as a project to reconstruct 7 km of the "Almaty – Bishkek" highway. This includes widening the road from 4 to 8 lanes, building 2 transport interchanges, and 9 overpasses for pedestrians. The project will increase the capacity of one of the key routes between Almaty and its suburbs.
The next site was City Clinical Hospital No. 7 in the Kalkaman microdistrict. After reconstruction, its capacity will be 900 beds. The project includes upgrading buildings and engineering systems, reinforcing structures, and equipping the facility with modern medical equipment.
As Nurlibek Nalibayev reported, taking into account republican budget funds and financing for the coming year, 196 billion tenge has been allocated for the city's healthcare.
"The Head of State instructed that 60–70% of the funds be directed specifically to the construction of healthcare facilities, since the population first and foremost needs modern medical infrastructure," said Nurlibek Nalibayev. "Now these funds must be spent efficiently, all work must be completed on time, and the facilities must be put into operation for the benefit of the population. These are very important projects that are also under the control of the Prime Minister," the First Deputy Prime Minister noted.
Next, the participants of the inspection tour reviewed the extension of Saina Street from the border of Almaty to the BAKAD. The length of the new section is 6.6 km. The project provides for the construction of a road, utility networks, and an overpass across railway tracks, and will improve transport links between the city and the Karasai district and the BAKAD.
Another project of significance for the entire agglomeration is the Western Sewer Collector of Almaty. The length of the main section is 35 km; to date, 17.9 km of pipeline has been laid. After the project is completed, about 200,000 residents of the Nauryzbai and Alatau districts of Almaty, as well as adjacent territories of the Almaty Region, will be able to use centralized sewerage.
Then Nurlibek Nalibayev reviewed the extension of Abai Avenue to the BAKAD, with a length of 3.4 km. The project includes the construction of a road, a bridge across the Aksai River, and an overpass across the BAKAD. The new section will create an additional exit from Almaty and improve transport links with the Karasai district.
The inspection tour concluded with social facilities in Almaty. The First Deputy Prime Minister visited the under-construction City Maternity Hospital No. 1 on Seifullin Street, designed for 155 beds, and a polyclinic on Aiteke bi Street with a capacity of 500 visits per shift.
Nurlibek Nalibayev noted that a number of the projects being implemented are intended not only for city residents but for the entire agglomeration.
