For the first time, a direct shipment of breeding cattle from Australia has been organized to the region. The first flight delivered 304 head of Aberdeen Angus beef cattle. The animals will be sent to Asyl Farms LLP in Shal akyn District.

The development of livestock farming and the establishment of a local breeding base are key priorities for the region’s agricultural sector. Since the beginning of the year, more than 3,000 head of breeding cattle have already been delivered to the region from Germany and Denmark. Another 10 flights from Australia are expected by the end of the year. Overall, the plan is to increase imports to 11,000 head of cattle and more than 1,500 head of sheep and goats.

The region currently has 118 dairy farms, including 50 modern complexes. Under the state programmes Bereke and Igilik, preferential financing is available at an annual interest rate of 6%. A portfolio of 23 projects worth 15 billion tenge has been formed in the region.

The implementation of these projects will help establish a highly productive breeding base, increase the production of high-quality meat products, and expand the region’s export potential.
