Anti-drug crime officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs liquidated a drug laboratory in one of the rented private houses in the Zhetysu district of Almaty.
– During the urgent search measures, a synthetic psychotropic substance “alpha-pvp” with a total weight of over one and a half kilograms was discovered and seized.
A suspect has been detained, who has seized “synthetics" weighing more than 100 grams. The man intended to sell drugs in a contactless way. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility," said Kuandyk Alzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on combating Drug Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The police have already liquidated 52 drug laboratories since the beginning of the year. Almost half a ton of “synthetics” were seized from illegal trafficking, which is twice as much as in 2023.
– We remind you that since October 2021, “synthetics” has been equated to heavy types of drugs. Criminal liability for their storage begins with one gram.
According to this fact, the detainee faces imprisonment from 10 to 15 years with confiscation of property," the speaker added.
