The Ministry of Internal Affairs continues comprehensive work to curb the illegal activities of criminal groups in the regions.
Since the beginning of the year, more than 10 such groups involved in the commission of serious and especially serious crimes have been detained in Shymkent.
On October 8, the Department for Combating Organized Crime, as a result of operational measures, detained a youth group that provided criminal patronage to entertainment establishments. Information has been received about their involvement in extortion, hooliganism and illegal possession of weapons.
On October 11, participants of another criminal group involved in extortion from Shymkent entrepreneurs were detained. They extorted up to three million tenge for their criminal patronage. Otherwise, they were subjected to physical and moral pressure.
In total, according to these facts, 35 defendants were taken to the internal affairs bodies, and more than 100 search operations were carried out. Weapons and ammunition were seized.
– It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, during the suppression of the activities of criminal groups in the city of Shymkent, more than 30 firearms and traumatic weapons have been seized, including one Kalashnikov assault rifle, 15 sawn-off shotguns, 11 pistols, two hard drives and more than one thousand ammunition.
Work to ensure the principle of “law and order” in the regions is under special control, – said Kuandyk Alpys, representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
