In order to prevent the penetration of criminal and terrorist elements, the Ministry of Internal Affairs is systematically working to identify channels of illegal migration.
– Since the beginning of this month, organized crime units have suppressed the activities of several criminal groups involved in organizing illegal migration.
The criminal schemes consisted in illegally crossing the state border, providing services for registering temporary residence to foreigners and issuing work permits using fictitious documents, – said Kuandyk Alpys, representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A local resident was detained in Zhambyl region, who organized a channel of illegal migration through the mountainous area for citizens of far abroad, whose goal was to get to work in the EU countries.
In Atyrau region, three foreigners were exposed in a criminal scheme to register non-residents in Kazakhstan using forged documents. During the search measures, foreign passports, “black” accounting and documentation were seized from them.
A similar criminal scheme was uncovered in the capital, where five local residents involved in the illegal registration of documents for migrant workers were detained.
– Pre-trial investigations are being conducted on all the facts. The perpetrators face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to seven years with confiscation of property. Work in this direction continues," Kuandyk Alpys noted.
