Over the 10 months of this year, Kazakhstan has seen positive dynamics in the field of food processing. Food production increased by 1.1% and amounted to 2.7 trillion tenge.
This was announced by Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov during Parliamentary hearings in the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the issue "Food security is the main component of national security".
The head of the department noted a significant increase in the production of a number of food products.
Thus, 80.6 thousand tons of cereals (77%), 604 thousand tons of vegetable oil (10.1%), 41.1 thousand tons of cheese and cottage cheese (9.9%), 200.3 thousand tons of fermented dairy products (5.2%), 58.6 thousand tons of sausages (3.4%), 27 thousand tons of butter (2.8%).
As part of the Comprehensive Plan for the development of processing, it is planned to increase the share of processing of basic types of agricultural products, such as meat, milk, rice, corn, sunflower and buckwheat, to 70%. By 2028, the volume of food production will be increased to 4.5 trillion tenge.
