This was announced by the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev, during a session of the maslikhat, at which the budget of the metropolis for 2025-2027 was considered.
"In order to achieve a new quality of landscaping and expand the green fund, financing of these important priorities will increase by 40%, or 50 billion tenge, to 170.5 billion tenge in 2025," Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev said in his speech.
To ensure a comfortable urban environment, new Landscaping Rules have been adopted, three-year contracts for complex maintenance of courtyards have been introduced, and approaches to repairing facades of houses along main streets have been revised.
Since January 2024, three-year contracts for the maintenance of yards have been concluded for the first time. They cover sanitary cleaning, repair of landscaping elements and maintenance of green areas. This approach eliminates the blurring of contractors' responsibilities and increases work efficiency. 141 units of equipment were purchased for the Almaty Tazalyk Park in 2023-2024, and 32 more units of equipment are planned to be purchased in 2025. The work of Almaty Tazalyk in 2025 will focus on cleaning main streets.
As part of the comprehensive work on the development of urban infrastructure in Almaty, new approaches to landscaping are being actively introduced on behalf of the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dosayev. In 2023-2024, more than 643 thousand green spaces were planted, and by 2030, according to the approved Roadmap, 2.5 million trees and shrubs are planned to be planted.
One of the key areas for improving the state of the green fund was the introduction of drip irrigation and automatic irrigation systems. In 2023, 500 thousand trees were covered (200 km of drip irrigation), in 2024 another 110 km was added for 220 thousand trees. In 2025, it is planned to install 120 km of drip irrigation and 168 km of automatic irrigation, which will provide care for 240 thousand trees.
Starting in 2025, it is planned to start mass planting of large-sized seedlings: 23 thousand trees over 4 meters high and 4 thousand trees over 6 meters high.
In addition, the city will use three-tiered landscaping, including lawns and flower beds (first tier), shrubs and ornamental plants (second tier), as well as large-sized trees (third tier). This will significantly increase the green canopy and create a cozy environment for the townspeople.
