Almaty is introducing a new principle of street transformation – "from facade to facade". This was announced by Mayor of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev during the session of the city maslikhat, which considers the city's budget for 2025-2027.
"Today, in developed megacities of the world, comprehensive street improvement is carried out on the principle of "from facade to facade" with the modernization of all infrastructure layers. We are starting to apply this international experience for the first time in Almaty," the head of the city said.
According to the mayor, according to the principle "from facade to facade", the design for the transformation of Dostyk Avenue from al-Farabi Ave. to Kurmangazy St. and Pushkin Street from Gogol St. to Ave. has been completed today. Rayymbek. Construction will begin in March 2025. 3.7 billion tenge is provided for these purposes.
In 2025, the design of 7 more streets will be completed - Radostovets, Makataev, Auezov, Gogol, Zhandosov, Rozybakiev and Satpayev.
According to the information of the Research Institute "Almatygenplan" LLP, the design work provides for a comprehensive transformation of the urban infrastructure: the streets will be equipped with modern pedestrian paths that ensure the safety and comfort of movement of citizens. Comfortable benches, gazebos, and urns will appear on the sidewalks with the installation of new lighting poles.
All works will be carried out taking into account modern standards of landscaping to ensure comfort, environmental friendliness and attractiveness of the urban environment for residents and guests of Almaty.
