On December 5, a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on crime prevention was held under the chairmanship of Akim of the region Nurdaulet Kilybai. The meeting reviewed the work of law enforcement agencies to combat human trafficking, ensure public safety and implement service methods.
Ilyas Zhumagulov, Deputy Head of the Mangystau Region Police Department, reported on the implementation of the program to combat human trafficking in the region.
- Since the beginning of the year, explanatory events have been organized covering 1,062 farms. For example, mobile groups carry out constant actions on the topic of "Combating human trafficking". In addition, measures are being actively implemented to prevent prostitution and the organization of brothels. As a result, 8 criminal cases related to human trafficking have been initiated in the Mangystau region this year, Ilyas Zhumagulov said.
In addition, the head of the local police service of the Mangystau region Police Department, Nurseyt Orazov, announced the results of work on the implementation of service methods. The analytical working group, established in February 2023, organized meetings with business entities, educational and sports organizations, as well as residents of neighborhoods.
During the meetings, 1,341 surveys were conducted, questions and suggestions from 257 citizens were heard.
The head of the region, Nurdaulet Kilybai, stressed the importance of joint actions in strengthening work on crime prevention and reduction.
- The prevention of offenses is the main guarantee of stability and security of society. We must systematically combat human trafficking, domestic violence and other crimes. Work in this direction should be actively supported not only by government agencies, but also by civil society," said Nurdaulet Kilybai.
