This became known during an extraordinary session of the maslikhat, at which the three-year budget of the city was approved. The Baum Grove is one of the main natural sites of the city. The area of the grove is 137.7 hectares, it is located in the Turksib district between Seifullin and Suyunbai Avenues.
The purpose of the project is the revival of the grove as an ecologically significant territory, popularization of eco-awareness among residents. The peculiarity of the approach is the minimal interference with the natural component of the grove.
Small architectural forms will appear on the territory: benches, gazebos, urns, as well as equipment for children's games and sports. During landscaping, the natural relief and soil cover will be preserved to avoid erosion and minimize the amount of excavation work.
The Baum Grove will be divided into three zones:
•The active zone will be located around the perimeter of the grove to provide access to the infrastructure for outdoor activities.
•The recreation area will become a place for a relaxing holiday with minimal infrastructure.
•The ecozone will be designed for the conservation and restoration of natural flora and fauna with limited intervention.
The whole project is based on three key principles: restoration, eco-zoning and safety. The implementation of landscaping is aimed at making the grove a modern, environmentally friendly and comfortable recreation area for citizens.
