During the extraordinary session of the Maslikhat of Almaty, deputies approved the three-year budget of the megalopolis. It provides funds for the completion of a number of transport infrastructure projects.
So, in 2025, it is planned to complete the construction of a transport interchange at the intersection of Ave. Seifullina - Zhansugurova St. and the breakthroughs of Sain Street from Ryskulov Ave. to Akyn Sara St., as well as Abai Avenue to the city border.
In July next year, the punching of Sain Street from Ryskulov Avenue to Akyn Sara Street with a total length of 3.2 km will be completed. Due to this, it is expected to reduce the traffic load by 40% from Momyshuly Street.
Also in May, the punching of Abai Avenue from B. Momyshuly Street to the city border will be put into operation. The total length of the punching will be 5.3 km with a six-lane road, bike paths and sidewalks on both sides.
In June, it is planned to fully complete the construction with landscaping of the adjacent territory of the transport interchange at the intersection of Zhansugurova Street and Seifullin Avenue.
The project involves the construction of 2 tunnels with a total length of 690 meters to ensure uninterrupted traffic along Seifullin Avenue. The passage of vehicles along Zhansugurova Street will be carried out at ground level. There are also 4 above-ground pedestrian crossings, sidewalks and landscaping.
As of today, the asphalt concrete pavement of all exits has been installed, one aboveground pedestrian crossing has been erected, and work is underway to rebuild sewer and contact networks. In addition, work has been completed on the installation of asphalt concrete pavement of the Zapadny and Vostochny tunnels along Seifullin Avenue.
It should be noted that after the interchange is put into operation, it is expected that the capacity along Zhansugurova Street will increase by 15%, along pr. Seifullina - by 20%.
