A social orientation room has been opened in Semey

In Semey, on the basis of the Public Association "Parents of children with special needs", a social and household orientation room was opened, designed for children with mental disabilities. The ceremonial opening of the offices was attended by First Deputy Akim of the region Abai Shalkar Baibekov, Permanent Deputy Ambassador of Germany to Kazakhstan Ulrich Kinne, representatives of local executive authorities, honored guests and parents of children with special educational needs.
This was made possible thanks to the grant support of the German Embassy in Astana in the amount of 2,005,000 tenge, aimed at equipping the necessary premises. The project was also supported by the KSU "Center for Labor Mobility of the Abai region" and the State Institution "Department for the Coordination of Employment and Social Programs of the Abai region", which allocated a grant in the amount of 1,476,800 tenge for the development of business ideas in the social sphere.
Within the framework of the project, three classrooms have been created: the office of social and household orientation (CBO), where children learn vital household skills, the office of a psychologist and speech therapist-defectologist to work on the development of speech and the psycho-emotional state of children, the office of adaptive physical culture (AFC), aimed at physical development and coordination.
Classes in classrooms are held free of charge twice a week for children with delayed speech development, general speech underdevelopment, autism and other mental characteristics. Three groups of 4 people for children of different ages are organized in the office of the SBO, 6 children visit the psychologist's office, 5 speech therapists, and two groups of 6 children are enrolled in adaptive physical education classes. By the end of the year, it is planned to reach more than 100 children in need of support.
