Governor of the East Kazakhstan region Yermek Kosherbayev visited the Ulba Center for Special Social Services in Ust-Kamenogorsk. During the visit, the head of the region inspected the premises of the center, talked with employees and children.
- The presence of such a center for special children in Ust-Kamenogorsk is very important, because here they receive not only help, but also the opportunity for social adaptation, - said the governor of the region.
Yermek Kosherbayev proposed to expand the possibilities of the institution by introducing a hippotherapy program.
The center began work in October 2022, occupying four floors of the building, providing day care for children with ASD and mental disabilities. The center has all the conditions for the rehabilitation of children with developmental disabilities.
- The main task of the center is comprehensive assistance to children with developmental disabilities aimed at correcting behavior, improving social skills, developing speech and cognitive activity. Psychologists, speech therapists, AVA therapists, sensory integration specialists, art therapists and other specialists work with children here," explained the director of the center, Sania Aubakirova.
The center also has classrooms for individual and group classes, each group has no more than six people, and 130 children aged 1 to 18 years are undergoing rehabilitation.
