Today in Kazakhstan, more than 54.5 thousand girls aged 11-13 years have been vaccinated with the vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV).
Since the beginning of October, girls aged 11 have been vaccinated everywhere in the republic against human papillomavirus (HPV), the main causative agent of cervical cancer. Catch-up immunization is also carried out for girls from 12 to 13 years old inclusive.
Among the regions for HPV vaccination, Turkestan region is the leader, where more than 11.1 thousand girls have been vaccinated, more than 5.3 thousand schoolgirls have been vaccinated in Shymkent, more than 4.3 thousand in Karaganda region, more than 4 thousand in Zhambyl region, and more than 3.7 thousand girls have been vaccinated in Astana.

In Kazakhstan, vaccinations are carried out in medical classrooms of schools after receiving the informed consent of parents or legal representatives. At the request of parents, vaccination can also be carried out in polyclinics at the place of attachment.
Preventive HPV vaccination helps prevent the development of cervical cancer and other oncological diseases.
In Kazakhstan, cervical cancer (cervical cancer) is the second most common type of cancer among women of all ages after breast cancer and the second most common cause of death in women of fertile age (25-44 years) after breast cancer.
