There are nine ethnocultural associations and a Kazakh cultural center in Temirtau. All of them received awards from the mayor of the city for their contribution to strengthening peace and harmony. The award was established five years ago and has become a good tradition.
– This award is a recognition of your efforts and achievements. But we have gathered not only to evaluate your work, but also to show the uniqueness and diversity of our society. Stories that make us stronger and wiser are woven into every culture, into every tradition," said Deputy Akim of Temirtau Samat Ziyashev at the award ceremony at the Palace of Culture. – As the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted, "The Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is an important tool for ensuring stability and peace in our society."
The amount of the award is 300 thousand tenge. This money is intended for the development of activities.
The heads of ethnic associations note that the award is a good help to continue working productively.
There are ethnic associations in Temirtau that were formed at the dawn of the country's independence, and very young ones. For example, the Greek cultural center "Pontos" will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. And the Tatar-Bashkir association "Anvar" is in its second year.
An exhibition of decorative and applied arts of ethnic groups living in the city was presented at the Temirtau Palace of Culture.
And after the awards ceremony, a concert was held: ethnic groups performed folk songs and dances, demonstrated national clothes.
