Since July 1, Kazakhstan has launched a system of mandatory labeling and traceability of medicines. The benefits and risks of its implementation were discussed with distributors of the region at a meeting in the Karaganda region chaired by Deputy Akim of the region Oraz Taurbekov.
Labeling will allow you to track the path of medicines from production to the buyer, and will help prevent illegal trafficking, including counterfeit products. And the consumer will be able to verify the authenticity of medicines.
Olga Smirnova, Head of the Department of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the Karaganda region, told about the implementation of the system in the region. She noted problems in the interaction between suppliers and pharmacies. In particular, it is the observance of deadlines between deliveries and paperwork.
The meeting also discussed the readiness of pharmacy warehouses for a seasonal increase in the incidence of SARS, influenza and coronavirus. According to the monitoring, there are sufficient stocks of medicines and medical devices in the region. There is a slight increase in demand for seasonal medicines, but there is no rush.
At the end of the meeting, Oraz Taurbekov stressed that only through joint efforts it is possible to ensure safety and transparency in the field of drug circulation.
