During a two-day working trip to the Abai region, First Vice Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akmadi Sarbasov visited a number of enterprises and social facilities in the region, as well as held meetings with labor collectives and received citizens on personal issues.
On the first day of his working trip, Akmadi Sarbasov visited enterprises, some of whose employees work in harmful working conditions – Semey Cement Plant Production Company LLP and QAZAQ-ASTYQ GROUP LLP.
The Vice Minister told the enterprise teams in detail about the conditions for the appointment of a special social payment for people who have worked in harmful working conditions for a long time, and the principles of the Safe Work Concept.
"Within the framework of the Concept of Safe Work, the procedure for assessing occupational risks is being improved, including in terms of assessing morbidity, taking into account harmful production factors by class of working conditions. Based on the results of the assessment of occupational risks and the identified harmfulness, personal protective equipment will be issued at each specific workplace and social guarantees will be provided, which will ultimately contribute not only to minimizing, but also to preventing occupational diseases of workers of harmful industries," he said.
After that, Akmadi Sarbasov held a meeting with the staff of the Labor Mobility Center of the Abai region, where he noted the need to intensify work to increase the prestige of working professions, especially among young people, as well as providing citizens with broad opportunities for self-realization in the labor market.
He recalled that the special importance of this direction was noted by the Head of State in the framework of the last Message to the people of Kazakhstan.
"Next year has been declared the Year of Working Professions. In this regard, the work on raising the status of a "man of work" should be strengthened. The previously adopted Concept for the development of the Labor market of the Republic of Kazakhstan is aimed at this," the Vice Minister stressed.
It was also noted that within the framework of the adopted Concept and the development of the National Qualifications System, the requirements for educational institutions have been strengthened to improve the quality of their graduates, and employers' requirements for really important skills are reflected in educational standards.
The next stage for a young specialist should be the start of a career.
"In order to support unemployed graduates of educational institutions, a youth practice has been organized, the essence of which is to provide initial work experience in the profession. To do this, contracts are concluded with employers, within the framework of which temporary jobs are created.
Also, an important element of the work is the processing by career centers of employers' applications, which organize vocational training for unemployed citizens on working qualifications," Sarbasov said.
After the meeting, the Vice Minister held a reception for citizens on personal issues.
Today, Akmadi Sarbasov held a meeting with the staff of the Silikat LLP enterprise, during which he also discussed issues of protecting the rights of employees and compliance with safety and labor protection requirements.
At the end of the working trip, the Vice Minister got acquainted with the work of the Semey Center for Special Social Services No. 2, where more than 150 people receive services in hospital mode, and the Center for Active Longevity also functions.
