Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Sharlapayev took part in the Kazakhstan Round table on Global Investments KGIR-2024. He spoke at a panel session on the topic: "Current trends in global markets and industries, their impact on investment strategies."
The Minister stressed that today Kazakhstan confidently occupies a place in the international investment arena as one of the most attractive and strategically important platforms for investors.
"This is largely due to our unique geographical location at the crossroads of East and West, which opens up huge opportunities. Our country serves as a bridge between the world's largest markets, providing access to Europe, China and other dynamically developing regions. This factor makes us an important hub in the international trade system and allows investors to use Kazakhstan as a platform to enter promising markets in Eurasia," K.Sharlapayev said.
Kazakhstan's industrial production sector is growing rapidly, focusing on diversification and sustainable growth. This sector provides about 29% of GDP and more than 19% of employment. Kazakhstan is actively attracting investments in the production of high-tech products, in particular in mechanical engineering, the IT sector, electronics and the food industry.
In the first 9 months of this year, industry growth reached 4.8% (17.1 trillion tenge). Kazakhstan is ready to support investors with tax benefits and preferences for the creation of new industries, especially export-oriented ones. The development of domestic production potential will reduce dependence on imports and ensure strong positions in the markets of Central Asia and beyond.
Kazakhstan's construction industry also offers ample opportunities for international investors. The growth of residential and commercial construction requires infrastructure development, which makes this sector very attractive. "We intend to create even more favorable conditions for companies involved in construction projects, development of transport routes, construction of logistics and production centers," the minister said.
In this direction, Kazakhstan is striving to simplify the processes of obtaining permits and make the infrastructure more accessible and reliable for all stakeholders.
"Our country is rich in natural resources, which are already attracting significant investments in metallurgy and mining. At the same time. Kazakhstan is actively developing non-resource sectors from IT and transport to agriculture and green energy. We are committed to sustainable development and welcome investments in projects that contribute to reducing carbon emissions and increase energy efficiency," K.Sharlapayev stressed.
It is expected that within the framework of KGIR-2024, the minister will hold a number of meetings with potential partners and investors.
