Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhaev met with Yusup Keligov, co-chairman of the Association of Legal Entities "Association of Chechens and Ingush of Kazakhstan "Vainakh". The meeting discussed interethnic harmony and the work of ethno-cultural associations in our region, and also presented indicators of the socio-economic development of the Abai region.
Today, more than 50 ethnic groups live in the region, 49 ethnic and cultural associations operate. The heads and members of ethnic and cultural associations are members of advisory bodies and act as experts in the field of interethnic relations.
Currently, most ethnic and cultural associations are located in the building of the regional House of Friendship. In the future, it is planned to place ethnocultural associations, public institutions of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan (Council of Elders, Council of Mothers, "Zhomart Zhan", centers of ethnomediation, scientific expert group, youth of the Assembly) and the regional House of Friendship in the regional "Congress Hall" under construction in accordance with the comprehensive development plan of the region.
