In Aktobe, scientists are solving the situation with the Kokzhide deposit
On December 5-6, Aktobe Regional University named after K.Zhubanov hosted a scientific and technological session organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "Science Foundation" and the Center for Scientific and Technological Initiatives "Samgau".
The event was attended by scientists, experts, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Science Committee and the Science Foundation.
– Today we are holding the sixth scientific and technological session on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, - said Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Ahmed-Zaki. – This systematic work is aimed at developing new mechanisms for the formation of priority areas for the development of scientific and technical activities. Each session confirms the effectiveness of such a format to address the demands and needs of the real economy. It is especially important that these events consistently improve cooperation between science and business, contributing to the promotion of commercialization projects for the production of new, export-oriented products. The accumulated experience of the previous five sessions shows that this format of interaction makes it possible to effectively turn scientific ideas into concrete prototypes and startups capable of competing in the market. This is exactly the result that is necessary to strengthen the competitiveness of the Kazakh economy in the international arena.
On the first day of the session, the scientists discussed the situation related to groundwater pollution of the Kokzhide field due to the influence of oil production. This problem raises serious concerns for the preservation of the ecological state of this deposit, therefore, the public is actively involved in protecting the groundwater of Kokzhide from further pollution. The participants of the session expressed the hope that effective solutions and measures to preserve the quality of groundwater will be presented during the event.
– This is another attempt to find a common understanding with subsoil users and come to joint work that will ensure the safety of the water resource, which, unfortunately, is not fully used, – says Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology of the K.Zhubanov ARU, Candidate of Biological Sciences Akylzhan Teleuov. – I believe that the most important issue at today's session is the beginning of the full development of the Kokjide. Our university intends to conduct a comprehensive biosystem study, including all adjacent natural components, which will allow us to understand the general state of the current ecosystem and develop effective water management strategies.
On the second day, the session participants engaged in the joint search and development of scientific and technological solutions necessary for carrying out work at the Kokzhide groundwater deposit, as well as sharing experiences and best practices, which contributes to the creation of innovative ideas for the effective use and protection of water resources in the region.
Interim results of geoecological and hydrogeological studies of KazNITU named after Satpayev and KazEnergy were also presented. Representatives of leading global companies such as Schlumberger, Halliburton and Baker Hughes of SNPC-AMG JSC shared their experience in the development of such deposits.
In addition, the participants of the event visited the production sites of Kazakhoil Aktobe LLP to familiarize themselves with the work processes.
The event was an important step in the development of scientific and technical cooperation and the search for effective solutions to the problems of environmental pollution and improvement of water resources.
