In the capital, members of the Coordinating Council of Social Centers established by non-governmental organizations to address social and socially significant issues will visit eight facilities providing a wide range of services for various social groups, the official website of the Mayor's Office of Astana reports.
Among the facilities is one of the Bilim All educational centers for children from large and single–parent families, organized by the Strong mothers NS public foundation.
"I am a mother of many children myself, and when my children were young, it was difficult for us to organize their additional education — it was too expensive. That is why I decided to open training centers available for large and single-parent families. I founded the Public Foundation in 2020, and this year we joined the register of social entrepreneurs. Our main task is to give children the opportunity to study additional basic school subjects, develop creative skills and unlock their potential. In addition, we provide free consultations for mothers on the use of electronic services on Egov.kz, and we also organize charity events, cultural events and concerts," said the head of the foundation, Raigul Serikbayeva.
The four Bilim All centers are attended by about 200 students, 80% of whom are children from socially vulnerable segments of the population. In addition, students practice in educational centers, young teachers and representatives of the "silver" age work.
The participants of the event got acquainted with the work of the public foundation, talked with the head and employees.
"Today we had the opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of the public foundation firsthand. The centers are represented precisely in remote areas of the capital, where there is an urgent need for additional education organizations. We conduct a monthly analysis at our sites, and we see that there is a need for infrastructure for children's leisure in the city. In addition to the educational and educational process, the centers provide advisory services for mothers with many children. They are also supported in difficult life situations. I am very glad that the foundation presents opportunities for social groups of the population," said Zhansaya Berdimurat, a member of the council and representative of the NGO "Senimen Bolashak".
The organizers of the event added that the visit is aimed at sharing experiences, studying effective practices and strengthening cooperation in the field of social support.
"Members of the Coordinating Council for Cooperation with Non-governmental organizations initiated a bypass of the centers implementing social projects and receiving support from the Mayor's Office of the capital. Such trips are very useful. We mostly work with documentation, but when you see firsthand how funds help people, this is another level. Next time we make changes to regulatory legal acts, this practical experience will help us," said Asylkhan Kushkimbayev, Head of the Department for Interaction with Civil Society Institutions of the Ministry of Culture and Information.
The council members will also visit social services centers for children with special needs, a crisis center, a social rehabilitation center for children with special educational needs, a center providing services to people over the age of 18 with psychological and neurological pathologies in semi-stationary conditions.
