More than 800 children underwent hippotherapy rehabilitation in Astana

The Argymak equestrian sports complex is actively developing a unique method of rehabilitation of children with special needs — hippotherapy, the official website of the Akimat of Astana reports.
Rehabilitation classes for children with special needs are conducted by rehabilitation doctors who have been trained in accredited organizations, as well as qualified specialists in the field of hippotherapy.
The facility is designed to carry out medical and rehabilitation work (hippotherapy), children and adults are also taught horse riding, sports, mass sports and entertainment events are organized here.
There are 20 horses here, of which 10 take an active part in recreational activities. Each horse is involved in hippotherapy for two hours a day.
According to the chairman of the Maslikhat of Astana Yerlan Kanalimov, today the regulations for the provision of medical rehabilitation using hippotherapy have been developed and approved.
It includes the formation of lists of children, taking into account medical indications and contraindications, as well as the systematization of work and the procedure for providing services. In addition, individual rehabilitation plans and visiting schedules are drawn up within the framework of the regulations.
Yerlan Kanalimov also said that a memorandum of cooperation with the centers "Zhansaya" and "Nurly Zhurek" was signed to organize hippotherapy classes.
"From April to December 2024, 802 children underwent hippotherapy, of which 610 children received state-ordered services. The work is organized through the platform birge.astana.kz which ensures transparency of the process. Seven children were selected for adaptive sports. Regional and republican competitions were also held, where the pupils of Argymak won prizes," Kanalimov informed.
