As part of the implementation of the instruction of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to expand the gas resource base, on November 1 this year, the Ministry of Energy concluded two improved model contracts with JSC NC QazaqGaz.
For exploration and production of hydrocarbons at the Maldybai site in Zhambyl region;
For the exploration and production of hydrocarbons at the Shalkar site in the Aktobe region – jointly with the strategic partner JSC "KOR Oil Company".
The improved model contract was introduced in 2023 and provides regulatory and fiscal preferences for complex projects.
In 2025, the deconservation of 2 previously drilled wells, 3D seismic exploration in the amount of 190 km2 is planned for the Maldybai site of the Zhambyl region. At the Shalkar site in the Aktobe region, the start of drilling an exploration well is planned for 2025.
It is noteworthy that these contracts are the first contracts of JSC NC QazaqGaz concluded following direct negotiations with the state within the framework of priority law.
