Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations took part in the international conference

The 13th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
The event was attended by Daulet Seilkhanov, Head of the Department of State Control and Supervision in the Mining and Metallurgical Industry of the Industrial Safety Committee of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
About 130 delegates from more than 55 countries, international organizations, initiatives and institutions participated in this conference.
As part of the Conference, the Parties discussed increasing the level of industrial safety to eliminate emerging risks in the context of the global energy transition. In response to the growing impact of climate change, the Conference of the Parties stressed the importance of addressing the risks associated with the safety of tailings and rock dumps, including their potential transboundary impacts.
Advanced satellite monitoring tools were also demonstrated, allowing proactive measures to eliminate problems and reduce the risk of natural disasters.
"Working and cooperating with partners from all countries and sectors of the economy to improve industrial safety at hazardous production facilities is one of the most important areas of our activity. The Convention on the Transboundary Effects of Industrial Accidents is an effective tool in the system of international relations in the field of industrial safety," Daulet Seilkhanov said.
